AC Shadows Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre collaboration that defies traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the official statement, "A strange confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden sect.
The questline focuses on "peculiar tests and a fearsome enemy" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Changes
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Additional Features
Players who finish the quest will obtain an special katana in addition to numerous items hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps mount

This release also brings the game's third no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This playful adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature skills: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
